Player Shops Guide

This guide explains how to create, manage, and use player shops on the server using QuickShop.

Shops allow players to buy and sell items using petals.


What Is a Shop

A shop is a chest or barrel that lets other players trade items with you.

  • Selling shops sell items from your container

  • Buying shops buy items from players using your balance

  • Shops are protected automatically

  • You can own up to 10 shops


Creating a Shop

Quick Create Method

  1. Place a chest or barrel where you are allowed to build

  2. Hold the item you want to trade

  3. Click the container

  4. Enter the price in chat when prompted

Your shop is created instantly.

Command Method

You can also create a shop with:

Selling vs Buying Shops

Selling Shop

  • Players buy items from your container

  • You must keep the chest stocked

  • If the container is empty, the shop cannot sell

Buying Shop

  • Your shop buys items from other players

  • You must have enough petals to pay players

You can also switch modes using the shop control panel.


Stocking Your Shop

To add stock:

  • Open the shop container

  • Place items inside

To remove stock or free space:

  • Take items out of the container

Your shop trades directly from its container.


Using the Shop Control Panel

Right-click your shop sign to open the control panel.

From here you can:

  • Change shop price

  • Switch buy or sell mode

  • Freeze or unfreeze the shop

  • View transaction history

  • Remove the shop

Most shop management does not require commands.


Changing the Price

  1. Right-click the shop sign

  2. Open the control panel

  3. Click Price [Change]

  4. Enter the new price in chat

Changing prices costs a small fee.


Freezing a Shop

Freezing temporarily disables trading.

  1. Right-click the shop sign

  2. Open the control panel

  3. Click Freeze Mode [Toggle]

Frozen shops cannot be used until unfrozen.


Naming Your Shop

You can give your shop a name for easy identification.

  1. Look at your shop

  2. Run:

The shop name appears in logs and transaction records.


Shop Staff

You can allow trusted players to help manage your shop.

Add staff:

Remove staff:

List staff:

Staff can manage the shop but do not own it.


Removing a Shop

To remove your shop:

  • Break the chest or barrel or

  • Use the control panel and select remove

Once removed, the shop is permanently deleted.


Shop Protection

Your shop is protected automatically.

Player Protection

  • Only you and your staff can access the shop container

  • Other players cannot take or insert items

  • Other players cannot break your shop

World Protection

Shops are protected from:

  • Explosions

  • Mobs or entities breaking them

  • Hoppers or hopper minecarts moving items

If you cannot create a shop somewhere, the area is protected.


Previewing Items

Before buying, you can preview shop items.

  1. Click the shop

  2. Hover over Preview Item to see details

  3. Click Preview Item to open a full preview window

Always preview items before purchasing.


Finding Shops

To search for nearby shops:

This finds nearby shops without loading new chunks.

Note: Item names must be in English.


Currency

All shops use petals.

  • Buying shops require enough petals in your balance

  • Selling shops require enough items in the container

  • Taxes may apply to trades


Shop Limits and Rules

  • Maximum 10 shops per player

  • Shops must be placed where you have build permission

  • Do not exploit pricing, stock, or mechanics

  • Shops that break server rules may be removed by staff

You can use any of these instead of /shop:


Common Issues

I cannot place a shop

  • The area is protected or you lack build permission

My shop is not trading

  • Selling shop is out of stock

  • Buying shop has insufficient petals

  • Shop is frozen

Players cannot interact with my shop

  • This is normal. Shops are protected by default
